How to eliminate a bad odor in the bathroom from the plumbing?
My bathroom smells so bad, like a sewer. I used every cleaning chemicals to clean the bathroom, but the odor is still there. I’m positive it’s the plumbing, think the odor mainly comes from the toilet. Any expert advice what it may be?

This usually comes from a dry trap – the water in the trap blocks odors from the septic tank or sewer line. If they don’t have enough water, there must be a leak somewhere. It could also be a faulty toilet seal – the wax ring under the toilet is old, bad, or cracked. I would check there if the odor seems to be coming from the toilet. You will need to have the toilet pulled up to check and replace the wax ring. If you don’t know how to do this, check with the hardware and they can guide you through and make sure that you have all the right materials. Or, check online for some diy videos. Or pay a plumber to check it. You probably have some friends or relatives who can help you out with this. Fairly simple.
