How do I sweat a ball-valve into my copper plumbing without damaging the valve seal?
I bought a ball valve that is designed to be sweat (soldered) into my copper plumbing, but won’t the heat from the soldering process damage the seal around the ball valve? How does one avoid that?

open the valve on the ball valve and wrap a wet rag around it.
